Technical Guidance for the Installation of Piped Halon‑125 Fire Suppression Systems
2026-08-25
The heptafluoropropane fire suppression system is primarily suitable for extinguishing fires involving solid surfaces, liquid fuels, gas fires where the gas supply can be shut off prior to extinguishment, and electrical fires. Pipe‑networked heptafluoropropane systems are commonly used to protect buildings containing multiple protected zones as well as large‑volume protected areas; they can be configured as either unit‑independent systems or combined distribution systems. Such systems consist of components including extinguishing agent cylinders, driver‑gas cylinders, manifolds, selection valves, nozzles, low‑leakage high‑seal valves, and signaling devices.
The on-site installation personnel shall inspect the fire‑extinguishing agent cylinders: the cylinder coating must be free of visible scratches (if noticeable scratches are present, touch‑up painting must be performed after installation); the cylinder body must show no signs of impact or obvious dents; and there must be no bubbles or obvious leaks at the connection between the cylinder and the container valve. The exterior of the container valve must be intact, with no impact marks, and the red protective nut on the top must be removable. At the pressure gauge installation point, verify that no gaskets have been omitted.
Unbox the product and inspect all components to ensure none are missing or damaged, including the fire‑extinguishing agent cylinder rack, the driver‑gas cylinder rack, the gas actuator, pressure gauges, the driver‑gas cylinder assembly (comprising the container valve, cylinder, solenoid‑actuated actuation unit, pressure gauge, etc.), connecting pipes, check valves, manifold, low‑leakage high‑seal valve, safety relief device, selection valve (which may be omitted in standalone systems), signaling devices, nozzles, nozzle caps (optional), certificate of conformity, installation nameplate, and other accessories.
