Since the extinguishing agent and nitrogen are stored in separate containers, there is no dissolution of nitrogen into the extinguishing agent, and no nitrogen is released during transport. This prevents the formation of gas pockets and two-phase flow. Nitrogen propels the liquid HFC‑227ea extinguishing agent through the piping as a single-phase fluid, thereby optimizing its flow characteristics and enabling the use of smaller-diameter pipes to deliver greater quantities of extinguishing agent.
